About the Journal
About the Journal
Agricultural Research Reports (ARR) is an international, peer-reviewed open-access journal dedicated to advancing scientific knowledge across the full spectrum of agricultural and allied sciences. Established in December 2022, ARR provides a platform for the dissemination of original research, reviews, and applied studies that contribute to sustainable agricultural development, food security, and environmental stewardship. The journal is published biannually (June and December) by PAGEPAL Research & Publications and is identified by ISSN 3106-0021 (Print) and ISSN 3106-003X (Online).
ARR serves as a bridge between fundamental science and field-based innovation, encouraging interdisciplinary approaches that integrate crop sciences, natural resource management, animal production, and agri-business. Its mission is to foster collaboration among researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and industry professionals to promote technologies and practices that ensure a resilient, productive, and climate-smart agricultural sector.
Scope and Coverage
The journal welcomes fundamental and applied research in the following broad thematic areas:
-
Crop and Plant Sciences – agronomy, agro-ecosystems, agro-climatology, crop physiology (including seed quality, seed invigoration, growth and development, photosynthesis, respiration, and translocation), biotic and abiotic stress management, and agricultural biochemistry.
-
Soil Science and Plant Nutrition – soil fertility, nutrient dynamics, fertilizer efficiency, organic amendments, and soil–plant–microbe interactions contributing to improved nutrient use efficiency.
-
Horticultural Sciences – advances in the production, post-harvest handling, and value addition of fruits, vegetables, ornamentals, and medicinal or aromatic plants, including innovations in tunnel and protected cultivation systems.
-
Livestock, Poultry, and Fisheries Sciences – research on animal nutrition, genetics, health, welfare, housing, feed resources, aquaculture, and integrated crop–livestock or fish–farming systems aimed at strengthening rural livelihoods and ensuring food and protein security.
-
Environmental and Climate Studies – impacts of climate variability on agriculture, mitigation and adaptation strategies, environmental pollution, toxicology, ecosystem services, and sustainable natural resource management.
-
Plant Protection and Integrated Pest Management (IPM) – insect control, disease epidemiology, bio-control, and environmentally compatible pest management techniques.
-
Plant Breeding and Biotechnology – genetic improvement, molecular breeding, tissue culture, genomics, and emerging biotechnological tools for enhanced productivity and resilience.
-
Agroforestry and Sustainable Land Use – studies linking tree-crop interactions, biodiversity enhancement, and landscape restoration with agricultural productivity.
-
Food and Nutrition Sciences – food processing, quality assurance, safety standards, and nutrition security strategies for developing communities.
-
Agricultural Policy, Economics, and Extension – rural development, farm management, innovation adoption, and the socio-economic evaluation of emerging agricultural technologies.
-
Agricultural Statistics, Modelling, and Data Science – applications of statistical methods, remote sensing, GIS, and artificial intelligence for precision agriculture and decision support.
Editorial Policy and Review Process
All submissions undergo a double-blind peer-review process conducted by subject-matter experts to ensure scientific rigor, originality, and relevance. ARR welcomes research from across the globe and particularly values comparative or region-specific studies that provide insight into the challenges and opportunities of developing agricultural economies.
The journal follows ethical standards consistent with the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines. Authors are expected to maintain the highest levels of academic integrity, transparency, and data reliability.
Open Access and Publication Charges
ARR operates under an Open Access publishing model, allowing unrestricted online access to all published content. Publication costs are covered through author handling fees:
-
Pakistani Authors: PKR 15,000
-
International Authors: USD 100
Waiver requests may be submitted before or during manuscript submission at accounts@pagepal.org.
NOTE: This fee will be applicable to manuscripts accepted on or after 1 April 2026 and applies to accepted manuscripts only, allowing us to continue offering unrestricted access to published articles.
By ensuring open accessibility, ARR supports knowledge dissemination and promotes equitable participation of researchers from both developed and developing regions.
Global Vision
ARR envisions an inclusive scientific community where research findings translate into practical solutions that enhance sustainability, productivity, and resilience in agriculture. The journal strives to link scientific innovation with on-farm application, bridging the gap between laboratory research, policy frameworks, and farmer realities.
Through its commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration—spanning crop, horticulture, livestock, poultry, fisheries, soil, and environmental sciences—Agricultural Research Reports seeks to advance the global agenda for a sustainable, food-secure, and climate-resilient future.
