Abstract

Phytochemicals may promote the growth, development and productivity of crops when exogenous applied at lower concentrations. To assess this phenomenon the following study was repeated for consecutive two years to evaluate various plant water extracts (Sorghum bicolor L., Zea mays L, Orayza sativa L., and Moringa olifera L.) alone and in combinations @ 3 % in improving the performance of maize.  Zea mays L. hybrid DK-919 was selected and cultivated by using standard agronomic procedures with the help of a dibbler on 11th and 3rd of August in 2014 and 2015, respectively. Results of the experiments depicted that combined application of Sorghum bicolor L., and Zea mays L. water extracts @3% notably enhanced the growth, morphology, stay green, yield related traits and grain yield of maize. In crux, the combined application of crop water extracts is recommended to improve the productivity of maize.
